Quercetin is a bioflavonoid that has been shown to reduce inflammation in the horse. This can be particularly helpful in aged horses, horses that have had injuries, or horses that have battled an illness. It can be helpful for horses with chronic conditions, such as allergies, arthritis, or malaise of aging.
My Best Horse recommends that the serving size be about 5 grams per day for a 1000 lb horse. Many competitors' supplements that contain quercetin have very low amounts, such as 250 mg. This may not be sufficient to see the desired results in the horse. By utilizing a bulk powder, you can affordably tailor the serving size to your horse's needs.

Recommended loading amount is 2-5 grams twice per day, or at the advice of your veterinarian. Some horses with more extensive issues will benefit from remaining on the loading dose. The margin of safety is high, so you can easily increase that to double the loading dose, if necessary.
Maintenance amount is 2-5 grams once per day.
Density: Please use a gram scale, as it the density depends on how fluffy or packed down it is. Approximately 5 grams per 2 US tablespoons.
