L-Glycine is useful to support a horse's metabolism of fats, including triglycerides. Commonly supplemented with horses that need to use fuel over extended periods, such as endurance. It is also commonly supplemented for horses on the "-flozin" drugs.
For support for the "-flozin" drugs, pair it with 10 grams of L-Carnitine per day.
Glycine helps dampen nerve transmission signals. This makes it a helpful supplement for horses that have episodes of tying-up, or even just tight muscles after a work.
Because it helps dampen the nerve signals, it may also be helpful for chronic pain issues, such as hoof pain or pain from previous injuries.
Another potential use is as a calming supplement, as it dampens the excitability of the horse. This can be helpful for horses on stall rest, or for the spooky horse on trail rides.
