    Calcium carbonate is useful to add calcium to a horse's diet. This calcium carbonate is USP grade, with no additives and no fillers. It is low in lead, less than 1 ppm, and suitable for supplementation.

    Serving size

    Suggested serving size:  Recommended amount is 10 grams per day of elemental calcium, or at the advice of your veterinarian.

    Density: Approximately 8 grams per US tablespoon (when slightly fluffy). 

    Calcium carbonate is a calcium molecule attached to a carbonate. The amount of elemental calcium is 40%. In order to get 9.6 grams of elemental calcium, you would need to feed 24 grams of the calcium carbonate. Stated another way, to get 9.6 grams of elemental calcium, you would need to feed 3 tablespoons of the calcium carbonate (slightly fluffy).
